Stitch for prizes

September 13, 2011 by Denise Felton Leave a Comment

I got this excellent heads-up from Nicole of Follow the White Bunny on behalf of feeling stitchy:

Help me to spread the word…about our contest! The more embroiderers that join in, the merrier, right?

The theme of ‘Covered in Stitches’ is ‘Book Covers’ (inspired by Jillian Tamaki’s embroidered book cover designs earlier this year). Whether people design their own book cover or base their embroidery on an existing book cover design: it’s all o.k. as long as it’s clear that embroidery (and of course I also mean cross stitch, crewel, creative free hand machine embroidery etc) is the main ‘ingredient’ of the piece.  People are not limited to design/or be inspired by a book cover of a novel, other book cover designs (comic, cook book etc) are welcome too!  People can post their entries in the Covered in Stitches Flickr Group.

Modern embroiderers will LOVE the prizes we have in store for them. Most of these are kindly sponsored by small independent Embroidery supply shops. The prizes include a copy of a Penguin Classics book as designed by Jillian Tamaki, a Crewel Kit, Vouchers for wonderful Etsy shops and cool Embroidery Floss Organizers. Further details can be found in [this] blog post: http://www.feelingstitchy.com/2011/09/covered-in-stitches-feeling-stitchy.html

You know you want to get in on this one!
