Style up your medical info

May 14, 2010 by Denise Felton 2 Comments

Here’s a great heads-up from Urban Threads‘ e-newsletter:

Awhile back Urban Threadster Lindsay Hartwell (who you may recognize as a former guest artist) dropped us a note. Her rockin’ boyfriend needed a rockin’ way to wear his medical information, and she envisioned this rockin’ medical information cuff as the solution. She’s kindly agreed to share a tutorial for this project on Urban Threads! It features a cool design on the outside, stitched or printed medical information on the inside, and a comfy button closure. (It’d be sweet for non-medical uses, too.) Get instructions to make your own in this week’s tutorial.

I think it’s a great idea, but not a substitute for a real medicalert bracelet. As a hospital employee, I wouldn’t have thought to look at it. We would probably just scoot it out of the way to start an IV. It’s a brilliant idea and it looks great, I just worry that it would be dangerous.

Good point. I’d love to hear ideas about how medical alert info can be displayed obviously but stylishly. Our crafty readers will come up with something!
