They thought it was a costume

Tricia of The Embroiderer’s Story shares this morsel about The Royal School of Needlework’s embroidery on the royal wedding gown:

One of the funny things is that the team working on the lace was told that it was for a period dress for a production to help keep them off the scent.  What a surprise they had to find out what the lace was really for!
