Looking for a supplier of Silk Ribbon? We love Etsy for finding hand dyed ribbons as well as imported European silk Embroidery Ribbons. You can see the listings here on Etsy. Why use silk ribbons? While you can use other kinds of ribbon, it’s best to work with silk because It’s lightweight and very fluid and can easily be manipulated into stitches.

I wonder if you could refrain from using just letters for something. It took me 20 minutes to figure out SRE stood for silk ribbon embroidery. I notice you did not use NPE for needle punch embroidery. Some of us are new to this and it makes it very confusing.
Thanks, Angela

Thank you for letting me know about the problem, Angela. I’m sorry that my headline caused confusion and frustration. I sometimes use abbreviations such as “SRE” (silk-ribbon embroidery), “CS” (cross-stitch), or “PC” (plastic canvas) in headlines because I need to conserve space or, more importantly, because I try to use as many keywords as possible so stitchers who are using search engines can locate appropriate material. For example, if I use “SRE” in a headline, I’ll use the whole term spelled out in the body of the story; and vice versa. However, newbie stitchers are a vital part of our community and I always want to be mindful of their needs. I’ll do my best to avoid such confusion in the future.
