Ikyoto posted a tutorial on The New New that gave me a flashback to the 70s (yes, I’m that old) and got me excited about string art all over again. She took advantage of the existing stitch holes on this lunch box to add string art embellishment. She explains how she did it and, while she’s at it, she gives some basic instruction for string-art projects. See the tute.
Some of us have sublimated out string-art love into embroidery on paper. The technique totally works for card fronts and bookmarks. Just mark the hole placement, poke holes with a push pin or stiletto, load some beautiful thread into your needle, and stitch through the holes in order to produce a gorgeous geometric design.
