Not sure what stumpwork is? Stumpwork or raised work is a style of embroidery where the stitches are raised of the workpiece to create a dimensional effect to the embroidery work. Stumpwork embroidery can also use wire, to create added effects, such as dimensional leaves, butterfly wings and more.

Beautiful! I’m in the US, is DMC coton different/similar from the embroidery floss? I haven’t done stumpwork in ages but these pansies want me to do some again.

Hi, Kate! I’m the the US, too. I’m sure she’s talking about cotton embroidery floss. That’s what I’d try it with, anyway.
