Cathe Holden of Just Something I Made created an advent calendar from wooden spools but (like all crafters I know) couldn’t stand to throw away the offloaded thread, even though it was too old and brittle for sewing. She shows us how she turned those little wads of fiber into tiny bird nests, and she tips us off to many uses for these little beauties.
