According to Wikipedia, you’ll be happy to know the Chicken Dinner candy had no chicken in it or chicken flavor. It was originally made during the depression and the reference was to Herbert Hoover’s famous chicken dinner slogan, “A chicken in every pot, a car in every garage” The candy was discontinued after the company was sold in 1962 to Pearson Candy Co.
