You’ll want to rip your dress

My friend Annie says, “There are no mistakes. Only opportunities for embellishment.” Evidently, Karen Barbe also subscribes to this philosophy. When she got a glaring rip in one of her favorite dresses, she created a mend that added to the dress’s beauty. She says,

I have used traditional darning techniques as well as embroidery stitches (cross-stitch and running stitch). It was hard to decide how to do it because the rip was in such a conspicuous spot so I went for this “fantasy darning”, a mix of things.

    Yep I did the same thing with a favorite shirt, but mine wasn’t a rip it was and spot and it was right under the throat so I put a small flower there and then cross stitched a bigger flower on the bottom. I got a lot of compliments when I added the “pretties” to my shirt.
