Punch Needle Tutorial

September 4, 2020 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for new hobbies to start.  Not that I have the time to do them of course, but I can always dream.  My craft room has a whole area dedicated to crafts that I plan on doing some day.   Maybe when I retire I will be able to get to some of them.

If you are looking for something new to add to your crafting repertoire, why not try punch needle embroidery.  Not only is it unique, it is easy to do, and it only requires a few specific tools.  Now that is my kind of hobby!  One of the things I like most about a needle punch project is the texture.  It adds an additional level of dimension to a project that can sometimes be difficult to achieve.

Punch Needle Embroidery Basic Skills & Supplies from Chicken Scratch NY, tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the hobby.  Complete with plenty of step by step photos, the author provides all kinds of details including:

  • What punch needle embroidery is
  • What tools you will need
  • How to do a project
  • How to find patterns
  • How to trace a pattern
  • How to display your creations
  • Suggestions on floss to use
  • Suggestions on fabric to use

You can’t help but be inspired to get going on your first punch needle embroidery project after reading this detailed and informative blog post.
