Embroidered Pumpkin Banner Tutorial

September 3, by Claudia Porter. Leave a Comment

Are you looking for a small embroidery project that won’t take too much time to make?  Do you need a small housewarming gift for a friend that has just moved?  This lovely pumpkin banner from Super Mom No Cape! is just what you need.  It is that homemade decorative touch of fall that everyone needs in their home.

I like to use a pumpkin theme in my home decor.  From Halloween to Thanksgiving, pumpkins cover all of the autumn holidays, and are a nice reminder that Christmas is right around the corner.  Not only that, but they are just super cute.

This banner measures approximately 8 inches x 10 inches and no special supplies are needed.  The nice thing about the free tutorial is that is has step by step instructions for making the banner and it has a free downloadable pdf pumpkin pattern. The author even provides hanging instructions.

What really intrigued me about this pattern is that it is not that difficult to assemble.  You do need to do a bit of sewing with a machine, and you will need some interfacing, but other than that you can let your embroidery skills shine.

The banner reminds a bit of redwork, without, obviously, the red floss.  However, for all of you fans of redwork projects, this would be a lovely pattern to use to.  All you would really need to do is change out the floss color.

To add a bit of rustic charm to your autumn home decor, consider making this banner.  You can find all of the instructions, along with the downloadable pattern here.
