Dip-dyed felt backgrounds

I deeply love these dip-dyed hoops blogged on The Crafts Dept. by Kristin St. Clair. She dipped white wool felt in a blue dye bath to create the illusion of winter landscapes. The polar animals are crisply cut of felt and adhered to the backgrounds. Stitchers might get more pleasure from attaching them with buttonhole stitch or just embroidering the animals to begin with.
