When I found the embroidery machine at the yard sale, I didn’t know what to expect. But the lady who had it was going blind and she offered it to me for free if I agreed to make 100 embroidered pillowcases for the local foster care program. I was hesitant at first, but then I thought about it. 100 embroidered pillowcases would mean a lot to a program that helps children in need. So I took her up on the offer and I’m so glad I did.

The pillowcases turned out amazing. Not only did I make 100 of them, but I also got to meet the lady who gave me the machine. She’s a kind lady who is going to be missed by the community. But I’m glad I got to know her and I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community in this way. Thank you, foster care program, for giving me the chance to do something important and impactful.
