Ooh La La! Look how pretty this hand embroidered beret is. With lovely flowers and leaves around the entire piece, it takes a plain winter cap to whole other level. With the cold months quickly approaching, this project would be a nice gift to make for someone, or for a special treat for yourself.
This free pattern can be found over on Anchor and was designed by Arorua. You do need some embroidery experience with this project, so it would not be a good project for an absolute beginner. If you want to get the exact look that is in the picture, the pattern provides a list of all of the floss used. Eight different stitches are used, including the following:
- Stem Stitch
- Fly Stitch
- Chain Stitch
- Back Stitch
- Satin Stitch
- Fishbone Stitch
- Woven Wheel Stitch
- French Knots
To transfer the pattern to the beret, the silk paper method is suggested. If you are not familiar with this method, the pattern describes the process in detail. In addition to the template and the template with stitch instructions, there are step-by-step instructions for the entire project. There are even instructions for washing.
