How to Machine Embroider Freestanding Lace Butterflies

December 21, 2021 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

You have got to take a look at this tutorial from We All Sew over on the Bernina blog.  Written by Kate Toney, it is for making freestanding butterfly lace and it is absolutely stunning!

The detailed tutorial has step-by-step instructions for making a lace butterfly on your embroidery machine.  You will find a complete supply list as well as photos to help you along the way.

I will say that this project is best suited for someone with some experience doing machine embroidery, but the tutorial is so detailed, you should not have any problems.

The designer made a shadow box with three different butterflies.  You could easily make just one and frame it to show off your work.
