Plastic Canvas Hanukkah Dreidel Tutorial

November 18, 2020 by Claudia Porter Leave a Comment

It can be quite challenging to find needlework patterns for Hanukkah, so when I saw this adorable plastic canvas dreidels tutorial, I knew I had to bring it to you.  Just look at how charming they are!

Made with brightly colored yarn, these fun designs from Creative Jewish Mom will fit in with any Hanukkah décor.  Naturally, you don’t have to use the colors that the designer used.  These would look lovely in almost any combination of colors.  Think blue, white and silver.

You do not need any special supplies, just the standard ones including the appropriate needle, plenty of yarn, and the 7 hole plastic canvas.

This tutorial is more of a design-your-own type of article.  However, it’s nothing to worry about. The dreidel shape is easy to make yourself.  Not only that, but you become the artist by creating your own yarn design.  What’s nice about this tutorial is that the stitching is easy to follow, so if you like the designs in the photo, they are doable.

Strung together, you could display them like a bunting.  They would also look pretty scattered on a table.  There are many ways to display them.
