Plastic Canvas Needlepoint Coasters Tutorial

December 14, 2020 by Claudia Porter 1 Comment

Are you looking for a quick and easy plastic canvas needlepoint Christmas gift for someone?  Here’s a nice (and useful) idea for you.  Make a set of these pretty coasters in a kaleidoscope pattern.  The design comes from Homeschooling Hearts and Minds.

This tutorial is designed for children to make, but anyone can do it.  Providing detailed step-by-step photos, the tutorial makes this project easy.  I particularly like the fact that the designer used variegated yarn for her coasters.  Of course, you could change that up very easily.

You will need basic plastic canvas supplies including yarn, a plastic canvas needle, and a sheet of 7 count plastic canvas.  That’s it!

Wouldn’t these coasters be pretty in rich Christmas colors like burgundy, green, and gold?  You could even make a different set for every season or holiday.  Of course you will be a bit busy for a while, but they sure would be lovely.

Around the holidays I am always looking for homemade projects for stocking stuffer or hostess gifts, and I have definitely added this project to my list.  Now I just need to get to work.
