Alli Coate‘s new series blends pencil drawing, painting, and stitching into expressions of some of her favorite verses from Psalms. She’s creating these large works–32″ x 40″–for her first solo gallery show, Threads, which is coming up. She says,
I absolutely loved stitching these pastel colors directly over my brushstrokes – it was a “no turning back” moment but I really am happy with how it turned out.
