September 17, 2020 by Shellie Wilson 2 Comments

All of these Embroidery designs are focused on the Japanese Cherry Blossom. I have included different styles but mostly they are of flowers with some designs using the full cherry tree with branches.

Cherry Blossom trees or Sakura trees as known in japan like a cold mountain climate. The biggest misconception about Cherry blossom trees is that they contain cherry fruit. This is incorrect.  That is a Cherry tree.

The Japanese have long regarded cherry blossoms, known as Sakura, as a sign of regeneration, beauty, and the fleeting nature of life. Cherry blossoms are a sign of friendship between the United States and Japan, as well as rejuvenation and optimism.

The petals of cherry blossom trees are delicious, although they only bloom for a week. The Japanese Women’s Club gave 400 trees to Amsterdam in 2000. These are in the Amsterdamse Bos (a vast park), where each tree is named after a famous person. There are cherry blossom trees in numerous cities across the world, including Toronto, Niagara, Montreal, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Victoria.

By “cherry blossom tree” I assume you mean cultivars of Prunus serrulata, which is referred to as sakura and grown for their blossoms. They’re not grown for their fruit, but they have fruit! How else would they reproduce?
