I have some of these old metal embroidery hoops left over from my childhood. (They probably were Mom’s.) They were great technology for their time–spring tension, cork around the outside of the inner hoop to hold your fabric taut. Sadly, though, they tend to rust, so you can’t use them for their intended purpose after they age. (Unless you don’t mind hoop-shaped stains on your project.)
