I’m loving Abby Glassenberg‘s update of a classic kids’ craft. She says she spotted the instructions for a yarn octopus in a 1966 magazine. (I remember making one in Brownies about 1960–one of my first crafts!) You can get the nostalgic look with lots more cuddly-ness by making it from fleece. The project is still no-sew–kids could glue google eyes or felt pieces to make the face. Or you could embroider the face. Abby created the mouth with split stitch. Go to her blog post for the photo tutorial.
