Update: Our beloved Rachel Hobson‘s moon embroidery is an entry in a contest sponsored by Etsy and NASA. The entry rules say,
The Contest is intended to demonstrate the Contestants’ passion for NASA through the creation of unique and original, handmade artistic items inspired by NASA and NASA’s programs, such as the space shuttle program and human space flight, aeronautics, science, and/or exploration of the universe.
If you read Rachel’s Average Jane Crafter blog, you know that her love for stitching is second only to her love for all things space-related. When challenged to come up with her own subject matter for SharonB‘s Sumptuous Surfaces class, what did Rachel choose? The moon. Of course. And now, if her art gets the most votes, she stands to win “a V.I.P. invitation for the winner and one guest to attend an upcoming Space Shuttle Launch attempt at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida” and the winner’s handmade item will fly in space on board one of the final space shuttle flights!! Perfect match, right?
Only Etsy members can vote; but signing up is free, so join and VOTE.
