Hannah of enbrouderie shares photos of a gift she received–a handbag from Egypt. She says,
The tag says it’s from a fair trade association for selling handicrafts, and this one was made by a group of North Sinai Bedouin women. The tag says ‘Each design and color combination holds social and/or cultural meaning.’
While the meaning is not explained, one thing is clear: It’s cross-stitch. Yet another culture in which cross-stitch is part of the ethnic stitching traditions. Beautiful. See more at Hannah’s post.
