Doesn’t everyone need a Charlie Brown Christmas tree in their lives? Well, maybe not everyone, but I’m pretty sure lots of people do. I anxiously await that time of year when the Charlie Brown Christmas television special. And when the children stand around the tree and sing at the end, I get a little sentimental. In our family it’s a tradition to gather around and watch it.
For everyone that likes the story as much as me, this charming free hand embroidery pattern from Wool and Wheel is for you.
It is described as an easy project and uses a few different stitches including the satin stitch, back stitch, and straight stitches. The designer, Kristin Herndon, uses a 6″ embroidery hoop that is wrapped in satin ribbon to frame the project and that really makes the tree pop. She provides the template for her hand drawn tree, including the reverse of the image. Not only that, but she also describes the stitches used in each area.
Bring a bit of the Christmas season into your home with this project. It is sure to bring a smile to your face whenever you look at it.
