Do you remember when you were a child and you had that favorite book that you read over and over? After a few readings it would practically be falling apart. Well, here is a pretty solution for you. It’s a plastic canvas book cover project from Dream a Little Bigger. What a fantastic and practical idea!
This tutorial goes over each step that you need to make a cover for a book of any size. You do need basic plastic needle embroidery supplies like yarn, a plastic canvas needle, 7 count plastic canvas and scissors. Most importantly, you need the book you want to cover. You may want to use a ruler to help you measure, but you don’t need it. Basically your book is your template. It’s that easy.
I like the plaid design the author used for her cover, but if you want to try something else, you could. On a side note, the cat in her photo is really cute and obviously likes to help her out.
This would be a fun gift to make for your favorite book lover, or to help save one of your own favorite novels.
