Mary Corbet describes how she created this exquisite felt needlebook on her blog, Needle ‘n’ Thread. I’m not sure Mary would call this article a tutorial, but it works quite well as one. And you’ll chuckle, as I did, when you read Mary’s self-deprecating remarks about the workmanship. It is only in my dreams that I make things this beautiful and perfect. See the post.

Hi, Denise – Thanks for the mention! You’re very kind! It did turn out a little tutorial-like, didn’t it? It was an easy project to put together, and just super-fun to stitch the cover, as I did whatever I wanted, however I wanted, with whatever thread I wanted – perfectly “free form” stuff. I don’t do that too often!!
I’m considering doing something similar, but making it into a kind of “roll” for different sized crochet hooks… what I need to figure out is how to finish the inside with narrow slots or pockets for hooks, while at the same time keeping the whole piece “roll-upable.” I should probably squiz around online and see if anyone’s done anything similar …!
Thanks again!
