I have an old and dear friend who just had to get glasses for the first time (she thinks it’s the end of her love life)and I wanted to stitch a glasses case for her and what better motif than this epitome of suppressed, glasses-wearing sexuality!!! So, please pick me - please, please, please!

I love this blog, it has made me start and want to start so many new hobbies and has helped me improve on my old favorite hobbies. I have been sharing this website with all my family and friends!

OOOOOh, a giveaway!!!! Of course, I can’t really point out areas where I’d like to see more of something in particular, cause I love it all so so so much!! Thank you for running this blog and for posting such interesting links! Your posts are like my little daily dose of inspiration.

  4. Average Jane Crafter on August 4, 2008 1:58 pm

Super fun! I’ve been dying to get these new transfers!

As for the blog, I love seeing needlework in all its forms getting exposure in anyway. There are a lot of great groups for embroidery on Flickr, with loads of gorgeous projects (from beginners to highly advanced) and I’d love to see those kinds of things featured.

Otherwise, though, you do a fantastic job! :)

Hey, Denise — Thanks for doing this giveaway! I’ve been checking Craft Gossip for awhile now and I’ve really been enjoying Needlework News since you took over. You always have great links. Do you know of any charites that accept embroidered pieces the way Love Quilts uses donated cross stitch squares to make quilts for children with serious illnesses?

  8. Denise Felton on August 5, 2008 7:07 am

Hi, Patty! Thank you so much for your kind words.

One of the things on my to-do list is putting together a page of links to “Crafting for a Cause.” All kinds of organizations accept–and even solicit–various needle works for charity. I’m having a bit of trouble keeping track of all the links I’ve seen, so I’m thinking a page dedicated to that purpose would help me as well as my readers. I’m so glad this matters to you. Please keep an eye on the blog; I should have the new page started within the next week or two.

    Denise

Hi, AJC! Thank you for stopping by!

I’ve definitely got to get more familiar with Flickr. Thank you for giving me the nudge!

    Hi Denise!

I love your blog, and I think you always have great information and links! I agree with Average Jane, you should check out Flickr sometime. It’s highly inspirational, not to mention addictive!

The embroidery pool is a good place to start:

I love the free embroidery pattern links but I wish there were a few more designs that are either vintage or, like sublime themselves, funky. I looove SS!

I love this blog, but the thing I love most is when my blog shows up on it! I DO wish, however, that I could read the WHOLE post from my feedreader.

  16. Denise Felton on August 6, 2008 9:53 am

Hi, Pookie! I like vintage and funky, too. I’ll keep an eye out for more of these patterns to share. You watch, too, and let me know any time you find something yummy so I can blab it to everybody! :)

Love this site and it’s been put on my “before 9:00 am” list!

I’d love to see more stuff like the Sublime Stitchging - a bit edgy, fun and quick - but could be fancied up like Alicia’s snail bag.

Less? Maybe tame stuff, flowers and samplers but that’s me :)

    Keep up the great work!

    Linda

I just recently found this blog and love, love, love it!!! I however would love to see more on paper mache’. I am a paper mache’ artist/sculptor and it seems to be a truly neglected craft in the craft blogs and forums. I know I can’t be the only one out there.
Thanks for being an awesome source of inspiration and thanks for the consideration!

Hi! I found a link to your blog today from Pipstitch so I unfortunately have no feedback. I’m definitely intrigued by your blog though so I’ll be peeking around at your recent posts. :-)

I just got started into embroidery, and would love to hear what different people like to do needlework on (like clothing, bedding, etc.) I’m always looking for new and unique ideas!

I also love doing beadwork, and metal work. Now I’m trying to incorporate embroidery into my projects :)

  24. Ms. Miller on August 7, 2008 6:12 pm

I’m just getting started in embroidery after having a brief moment when I was 12 yrs old, to play with my sister’s embroidery project. She was nice enough to let me thread it little and ever since then I wanted my own embroidery kit. I just bought one(kit) but would love to have more patterns.

I’m also interested in knitting and sewing(clothes), so having more topics about those would be helpful but it seems you have pretty much everything covered.

    Thanks for your website.

  25. Mel on August 7, 2008 7:08 pm

    I love these designs.

I am so lucky to have hit upon this web site. Such a beautiful assortment of subjects for all interests. Once inside this beautiful library of creativity you are lost only to emerge with a list of “got to do projects.” How can you improve on this??? Never, keep going the way you are……

  28. Jenni Snyder on August 7, 2008 7:58 pm

    woo hoo…great patterns.

  29. Annie on August 7, 2008 10:13 pm

ooh, my sister just got her masters of library science degree, this would be a perfect start for a Christmas gift for her!

I’ve been doing embroidery all on my own for almost a year now, mostly in scrap booking. I’ve had to make my own patterns from art stencils I’ve found, but they just aren’t the same. I’ve been desperate for some GOOD patterns to try out, and saw a Sublime Stitching book for the first time today! I’m so happy to see that I’m not alone in my lust for stitching! After perusing your website, I was wondering if we could see some more online instructions on simple stitches. I’d also like to see some patterns on Massage Therapy (my profession), pandas and music. I love the sushi and monkey themes - they’re going to be a blast to do!

Love your embroidery patterns. I started embroidery when I was a youngster and still do different patterns. Thank you for the chance to win your new patterns. Excellent designs.

I just surfed over here from Pip Stitch. I’m going to explore a little more and definitely subscribe!

  33. Eden on August 8, 2008 10:23 am

I found the blog via Jenny Hart’s newsletter & I’m glad I did. Something I’m always looking for are ideas to use embroidery in unexpected ways. Clothing, pillows and bags seemed obvious but I’m stuck about ways to incorporate it into other types of projects or uses. I’m off to check your archives and see what I can discover.

How cool is this. A friend of mine and I would go to the library to work on reports together in Junior High. We were always hearing “Shhhhh”, now I can make this and send to her. She will so love it. Please enter me. thanks, Debxx
